Chelsea’s main target to beef up their central defense, Kalidou Koulibaly has brushed off any talk that he could be moving to join the London based club this summer.
The Senegal international is currently on duty for his country at the 2018 World Cup as the Teranga Lions hope to make the knockout stage. They are in the same group as Japan, Colombia and Poland. He has been linked with a move to Chelsea for several months the center back continues to attract the Blues.
Those links to join Chelsea will not go away anytime soon especially as Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri is constantly being mentioned as the manager to replace Antonio Conte this summer. Koulibaly is one of Sarri’s most liked players at the Italian club and will be interested in bringing him to Chelsea if he signs.
When Koulibaly was asked in Russia if he favors a move to Chelsea this summer, his answer gave nothing away, insisting he is only focusing on the tournament and helping his country.
“100million, if you tell my parents this figure I think they’ll have a good laugh! This price is what the market dictates, I don’t think about it, I just try and do my best on the pitch. I don’t think for a minute about my future because we’ve worked for three years to be here and if something may confuse me during the World Cup I will leave it aside because I want to be 100 per cent focused on the World Cup.
“We’ve worked a great deal, we’re very committed and we want to be in the last 16. As for the rest, we’ll see later and all my team-mates should trust me and each other so I don’t give a minute to my future right now.”
