Chelsea have not made an official their approach for Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj after the full back revealed he has had no conversation with anyone from London.
The Blues were thought to be interested in Hysaj and a few other Napoli players with the imminent arrival of their former manager Maurizio Sarri.
However, the deal to bring in Sarri is off according to the Express and that may hurt Chelsea’s chances of signing any of the manager’s former prodigy.
Hysaj however, should be a main target for Chelsea whether Sarri arrives or not. The 24 year old has become one of the most dependable defenders in the Italian Serie A after he made 35 league appearances for the Partenopei as they pushed Juventus to a near title collapse last season.
Hysaj says he is only reading the stories on the internet and has not been approached by anyone from Chelsea insisting they are only ‘rumors’.
“The farewell of Sarri is not good news given that I’ve been with the coach for 6 years. But Napoli have made a good choice with Ancelotti who is an excellent coach and we know how many titles he won. Future? They are just rumors, I do not know anything and I only read what is written.”
