“I’ve heard ‘tomorrow will be the right day’ so many times” – Gianfranco Zola’s agent reveals current state of Chelsea managerial pursuit

Chelsea are reportedly angling for a change in their managerial department and hope to bring in another coach to replace Antonio Conte, although the Italian is yet to be sacked by the club.

The Blues have been mentioned as favorites to sign Luis Enrique in the past, before Laurent Blanc also became a favorite to arrive at the club. In all this, former Napoli head coach Maurizio Sarri has been linked with the club and he has effectively been replaced at the Italian Serie A side by former Bayern Munich and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The six-time Premier League champions are not the same side they used to be and have been noncompetitive in the past season, falling some way off leaders Man City, although they won the FA Cup trophy with Conte in charge, they Italian is on course to lose his job.

Reports from Italy says if Sarri is appointed the next manager, former Blues winger Gianfranco Zola will be appointed as his assistant and Zola’s sudden departure from South Africa where he was doing television punditry for the World Cup fueled rumors he could be on his way to the United Kingdom to firm up the contract with the Blues bt his agent has revealed his frustrations at development at Stamford Bridge, saying, “I’ve heard ‘tomorrow will be the right day’ so many times”.

“We need to find an agreement between Sarri and Napoli. It’s a negotiation which hasn’t taken off, I’ve heard ‘tomorrow will be the right day’ so many times, but too many tomorrows have passed.

Zola has no agreements with Chelsea. At the moment we’re waiting for Sarri, for a resolution with [Antonio] Conte, for an agreement between Chelsea and Napoli and also an agreement between Sarri and the London club. If all that happens, Zola and Sarri can talk about an eventual collaboration. Zola hasn’t had any contact, nor have I ever gone to London.”
