Spanish newspaper makes staggering claim senior defender will leave Chelsea this summer

Chelsea are going to allow versatile defender Cesar Azplicueta to leave the club this summer in a cut-price deal, just to bring veteran Brazilian defender.

The report by El Gol Digital is captured by Team Talk, who call for lost of ‘alarms’ in the story.

Azplicueta is seen as one of the best Blues defenders in recent seasons, and his consistency has been a great source of dependability for Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, who at times cannot pick from a lethargic bunch in their defensive unit.

Whether Antonio Conte stays on as manager or leaves, no replacement of his will let Azplicueta leave, especially as he also holds the dressing room together as one of the leaders of the Chelsea side.

The Spain international is said to be on his way out of Chelsea to join Atletic Bilbao, to pave way fro Chelsea to bring in 33-year old Miranda. That also makes no sense as Chelsea will be trading a reliable defender who knows the Premier League terrain really well, for a defender very green to the top flight.
