“I came back to Chelsea to stay here” – David Luiz promises Chelsea fans he is going nowhere this summer

Chelsea fans may have shared a concern or two about whether David Luiz would move away from the club this summer after suffering in the second half of last season under Antonio Conte, but the central defender is adamant he will not go anywhere and that he is happy at the club.

In the first two pre-season games under Maurizio Sarri, David Luiz has started alongside starlet Ethan Ampadu and the Brazil international is in cloud nine over his new manager’s philosophy and style that has convinced him to not think twice about leaving Stamford Bridge anytime soon.

Chelsea’s new Italian manager has asked his players to attack at every opportunity and that is an attribute that has led Luiz to think he will be making the right decision to stay at Chelsea, as he had the ambition to win more trophies after returning from Paris Saint Germain in 2016.

“I came back to Chelsea to stay here. When I took my decision to come back here from Paris it was to win the Premier League and to do something again with Chelsea, so I am very happy here. I love this philosophy. We play high, with a lot of possession of the ball, in a technical way. He’s trying to help us every single day to learn quickly his philosophy, to do our best for Chelsea.

You guys know me — I like to be happy, to enjoy my life. We have the best job in the world. [Sarri] came with this idea as a human being, so I think if you’re not happy to do your job it doesn’t matter if you’re a footballer or not. We have to be happy to do our best.”
