Chelsea have played key role in Manchester City failing so far to sign Jorginho this summer

Of the dozens of players that have been linked with Chelsea for a summer transfer switch, not many will end up at the club, although there might be a few surprises in the bag – as is the case with Napoli midfielder Jorginho.

There are reports now that Chelsea may be responsible for Manchester City’s failure in landing the midfielder from the Serie A just yet. The midfielder has been tipped for greatness after his displays in Naples and is expected to make a big move this summer, but despite Pep Guardiola taking a big leap in the race for him, Corrierre dello Sport say all of that may have changed after Chelsea entered discussion with Maurizio Sarri to take over the reins at the club after Antonio Conte leaves.

Shockingly, Chelsea’s main target for the manager role next season is still under contract in Italy and with the deal not looking likely to be resolved in the coming days, it is unclear if any of the targets linked to the club because of Sarri will actually arrive, and that includes Jorginho.

Calciomercato also suggest Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich may rather pay more for Jorginho than sanction the release clause for Sarri.
