One of the most linked players to Chelsea this summer due to the imminent arrival of Napoli’s former head coach Maurizio Sarri, Gonzalo Higuain was reportedly on his way to Chelsea after a agreement between the two clubs but his brother Nicolas Higuain has refuted those claims.
The Blues were said to have agreed a fee of £57 million with Juventus on Tuesday by Mediaset via Tribal Football, but the report has been dismissed by the Argentina striker’s brother who insists they have not spoken to any clubs yet while maintaining Higuain is happy in Turin.
The speculation about Higuain joining the Premier League side has heightened in the last few days due to reports that Maurizio Sarri is set to arrive at Stamford Bridge this week. Both men worked at Napoli about three seasons ago.
Higuain is thought to be on the wishlist of the Italian’s wishlist for the summer transfer window but his brother denies having a deal in place for the former real Madrid forward to move to the Premier League.
“At the moment we haven’t spoken to any other clubs, as we have a three-year contract with Juventus. He is very happy in the city, at the club, with the coach and the tactical system.
All these things people talked about other clubs are just rumours, we haven’t spoken to anybody. At the moment, he has three years on his contract with Juventus.”
