“I had to lay down the law to Marina” – Club President explains why Chelsea would not sign any other Napoli players after Jorginho

Chelsea are expected to complete a few more deals before the summer transfer window is over in a few weeks, and if the Blues had their eyes set on Napoli stars, they must forget it, following the serious comments by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

The Napoli President has expressed his anger at how new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri had wanted to wipe out his players following his move to the Premier League giants this summer. It was revealed in the past by the Mirror, that Sarri was expecting to move about four players from his former club to his new club, although those reports have gone cold now.

Only Jorginho has so far joined his manager to Chelsea, and it appears he may be the only one the entire summer transfer window.

De Laurentiis is adamant he will not allow anymore of his players reunite with Sarri in England has made that clear to Chelsea sporting Director Marina Granovskaia.

“He wanted to take my whole team to England and dismantle it. I had to lay down the law to Marina [Granovskaia, Chelsea director].

He wanted Jorginho and I gave him away after I talked to Ancelotti, who told me he was banking a lot on [Amadou] Diawara and that he wanted to play [Marek] Hamsik deeper.”
