Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has reported back to training in London and is guiding the players who were not on World Cup duty, through pre-season drills.
There were pictures flying around on Monday as a number of senior players arrived in Cobham and took part in the training with their manager in also in the camera shots. The mood looked fine as the players went along with the physical exercises.
But Conte reporting to training may have sent some chills down the spine of some Blues fans who are desperate to see the club moving forward. And with the constant update in the media that Chelsea are actively looking to sign a replacement for Conte, many wonder what Conte is still doing at the helm of the club.
He is currently in limbo, not knowing what the club want to do with him but Marca reports the former Juventus and Italy manager remains at the club and reported back to training because Roman Abramovich is not willing to pay him the bumper compensation reported by the Telegraph to be around £9m.
Conte remains in charge, and until that amount is paid by the club, he will use up his remaining days on his contract and prevent another manager from coming in.
