Chelsea begin talks to complete third summer signing worth £32m

Chelsea have reportedly begun talks to sign Inter Milan midfielder Mattias Vecino this summer as they seek to beef up their midfield.

The central part on the pitch seems well stocked at the moment at Chelsea, but Maurizio Sarri is looking to bring in at least one more midfielder as he attacks next season’s objectives very aggressively.

According to Sky Sports, Inter Milan want £32 million for Chelsea’s new target and will not lower their demands, and the Blues have now entered into negotiations with the Serie A giants. Vecino was one of the brightest players for Uruguay at the World Cup, winning a starting berth in every game under Oscar Tabarez and showing signs of having the ability to complete long passes, and also possessing a good shot from range as espoused by Italian journalist Matteo Bonetti on Twitter.

Sarri will know all about his new target as he worked with him in their time at Empoli before the tactician took over the job at Napoli.

If signed, Vecino will become the third senior signing for Chelsea this summer after recruiting Jorginho and Robert Green.
