Chelsea are ready to reopen talks with superstar forward Eden Hazard, only a couple of days after the player suggested he was going to remain at the club this season and not moving anywhere this month.
The transfer window is still very much active in Spain and Los Blancos are reported to be eyeing him to come in for Cristiano Ronaldo, who moved to Juventus this summer.
The Belgium winger has two years remaining on his current deal which runs until 2020, but the Blues know by the end of this season, he will have only one season remaining on his deal, and could leave for cheap like Thibaut Courtois did this summer.
So according to Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, Chelsea are going to re-enter the negotiations to offer the play maker a new deal worth £300,000 per week to tie him to the club beyond the 2020 deal.
Hazard is currently Chelsea’s best player and Maurizio Sarri needs to rely on him for match winning displays like he did against Arsenal last weekend when he set up Marcos Alonso for the winner.
Rio Ferdinand certainly agrees that Hazard is the Blues best bet to any achievement this season, but stopped short of calling Chelsea title contenders.
Can Chelsea win the league this season?
"They are not as good as Liverpool. They are not as good as Man City. I wouldn't say they are as good as Man Utd, or Spurs…but they do have Hazard!"@rioferdy5 thinks Chelsea should be targeting a top four finish under Sarri#PLTonight pic.twitter.com/9J0ptuQ6Wv
