“Everyone has been training well but…they have been very good” – Willian showers praise on two of Chelsea’s summer signings

Willian has showered praise on two of his new teammates at Chelsea insisting their ‘quality’ will see Chelsea through a lot of tough encounters this season.

The Blues were not as busy in the transfer window as they had been in previous summer markets, but still brought in four players to beef up their senior team under new head coach Maurizio Sarri. Following the arrival of Robert Green, several Chelsea fans expressed frustrations over the lack of direction in the businesses but after Sarri arrived from Napoli, he brought along Jorginho, who has turned a great spectacle to watch each time he wears the blue shirt.

He has featured in all three games Chelsea have played in this season, including the Community Shield loss to Manchester City, and despite struggling in that game, has otherwise been adapting well. He has been a breath of fresh air at Stamford Bridge.

Alongside him, possibly for majority of this season will be Mateo Kovacic, who is expected to play in one of the advanced midfield roles with N’Golo Kante. Kovacic arrived from Real Madrid on loan and did not get his chance until the win over Arsenal, where he enjoyed 30 second half minutes.

Willian says those two signings have improved his side and expects them to make valuable contributions to the team going forward.

“Everyone has been training well but I would say Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic have been very good.

They both bring a lot of quality to the team.”
