Chelsea are going to be forced into mass sales on transfer deadline day after completing the deal to bring in two big stars on Wednesday.
According to the Independent, the Blues are inching closer to selling a number of their star first team players, with competition for places intensifying in recent times.
With Mateo Kovacic arriving to beef up Maurizio Sarri’s midfield, the expectation is the numbers in the Blues midfield will be reduced and there are a couple of players who could easily be let go, including Danny Drinkwater and Tiemoue Bakyoko.
Bakayoko is reportedly on the radar of AC Milan and talks between the two clubs over a loan deal with an option to buy next summer are at an advanced stage, as reported by TeamTalk.
The Independent reports that Drinkwater and Kurt Zouma are the most likely to leave with several Premier League clubs on their trail, but they will have to hope negotiations are completed in the next few hours as the deadline for transfer is this evening.
Another player set to leave on Thursday is Michy Batshuayi who is said to be angling for a move to Valencia in La Liga this summer.
