Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri has given a big update on Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s future, with the Chelsea boss insisting the midfielder will not leave on loan to any club this summer.
Loftus-Cheek is one of the players tipped to lead Chelsea out of the tunnel in the future after graduating from the club’s academy a few years ago. But his immediate role at the club has always being under threat by more experienced and more seasoned midfielders the club signs each summer transfer window, and this year has been no different.
Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic have been brought in this summer to join Cesc Fabregas, N’Golo Kante, Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley, and have even forced Tiemoue Bakayoko out of the club.
With speculation still hanging aorund the neck of the England international, Sarri has said Loftus-Cheek will remain a Chelsea player this season, but stopped short of assuring he will last beyond December.
Sarri on RLC's future: "I decided to put two wingers and only one midfielder on the bench. I have spoken with him twice this week, after I spoke with the club. I think Loftus-Cheek will remain with us, we can speak again about him but only in December." #CFC
