Chelsea are under a Jose Mourinho attack this summer, and another player is on his radar, with reports saying Manchester United are chasing Kurt Zouma.
Zouma spent last season on loan at Stoke City after failing to nail a regular spot under Antonio Conte in the Blues setup and he is currently hoping Maurizio Sarri has him in his plans for the season to come.
Competition for places is very high at the moment at the club with David Luiz, Gary Cahill, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger all vying for the two spots in the starting 11 under Sarri this season. As Chelsea revert to the back four this season, some players might end up disgruntled with only a few spots in defense to fill, and Zouma might be one of them.
L’Equipe, through Sport Witness, say Man United want to sign the player on a permanent deal but the Blues are unwilling to keep strengthening their direct Premier League rivals each summer transfer window, after Nemanja Matic moved to Old Trafford just last summer.
United have other options though, with reports linking them to Barcelona’s Yerry Mina, Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng and Tottenham Hotspur’s Toby Alderweireld.
