Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is set to remain at the club next season, despite angling to leave this summer due to his limited chances since arriving two seasons ago.
According to RMC Sport, Maurizio Sarri has told the Belgium international he has a future in his squad and a role to play next season, blocking any potential moves for the striker to leave this summer.
This pretty much rules out any attempts by European clubs for the forward either on loan or for a permanent deal. This is reassuring by Sarri, as many Chelsea fans sought to see Batshuayi play more after his successful loan spell in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund, where he scored nine goals in his appearances for the German team.
Next season, he will compete with Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud again for the top spot in the three-pronged attack that will be flanked by Eden Hazard and Willian, most likely, assuming both players stay beyond the end of the transfer window.
