Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has had a sudden break in front of goal this season, scoring in every game he has started for the Blues in the Premier League.
The Belgium international scored a hattrick last weekend against Cardiff City, helping Chelsea to a 4-1 win over their rivals at Stamford Bridge. His goals capped a brilliant display by the left winger who crafted almost every move by his side last Saturday.
Despite Hazard’s world-class talent as a dribbler, the forward is still finding his feet among the most prolific players in the world. Until now, Hazard had never scored in four straight games in his previous seasons, despite an illustrous career so far. Now, he looks the most potent in front of goal for his side and that according to Marcos Alonso, can make him a better performer than Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah did last season.
Alonso says Hazard can take home the Player of The Year award this season if he continues his brilliant start.
“We saw last year Salah fight for it and they play more or less the same position, as a winger coming inside the pitch,” Alonso said. “If he keeps playing this way, why not?
“He’s one of the best in Europe for sure. He has started very well after a very good World Cup. He’s playing awesome football and I hope he keeps this. We all have to help him to score goals and help him to continue like this.”
