3 Negatives from Chelsea’s painful Liverpool draw

Chelsea came within minutes of beating Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, before a late Daniel Sturridge equaliser made it a point each. It was a good performance, but there were still major areas for Maurizio Sarri to look at. Here are our three negatives from the game:

-Shy strikers. This season we’ve been winning despite our forwards rather than because of him, and that was never more evident than against Liverpool, where a bit of cutting edge up front would have got us a second goal and the three points.

-Bare bench. Maurizio Sarri brought on Ross Barkley, Victor Moses and Alvaro Morata in the game, and none of them really helped the team once they were on the pitch. With Pedro out injured, there’s a dearth of attacking quality to help the team out as the game goes on.

-N’Golo Kan’t Tackle. There were question marks about Kante’s role in the team after the draw with West Ham, and while he was good on the ball in transition against Liverpool, he made 0 tackles, 0 interceptions and 0 clearances in the game.
