Ruben Loftus-Cheek is reportedly set to tell Chelsea that he wants to join another club in January, although he will not push to be sold.
The England international is one of the most highly rated stars in the country at the moment but has seen his career stall just a little bit with his decision to stay at Chelsea this season. Maurizio Sarri stepped in to prevent him from being loaned out last summer, but the Italian manager has not exactly shown him the kind of faith that could signal the 22-year old will become a key player in the team.
He has started only once this season, in the Blues’s Europa League game against Mol Vidi although he could have had a better number to his start column had he not picked up an injury prior to the Chelsea’s Carabao Cup win over Liverpool.
He certainly falls in the pecking order behind N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, and Ross Barkley, as one of the two spots in the attacking midfield and that could force him out. The Daily Mail says the player wants out in January and Arsenal will register their interest in him in the coming months alongside Crystal Palace, the club he spent the entire last season with.
Chelsea, however, are expected to play hardball, with Sarri foreseeing a lot of games to go around as the season wears on.
