Antonio Conte is currently out of football after he was replaced by Maurizio Sarri last summer at Chelsea, but it might not be for long as Real Madrid continue to speak with his representatives about managing the La Liga giants.
The Italian tactician was once the god at Stamford Bridge after guiding the Blues to Premier League victory in his maiden season, raising his stock in the European market. He had previously won the Italian Serie A with Juventus in consecutive seasons. Despite a rather poor campaign in his final year at the club accompanied with player mutiny, Conte has attracted interest from Real but so far turned it down to take a break from football.
But after Real’s abysmal start to the season under Julen Lopetegui, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is desperate to bring in Conte, as per Sky Sports.
Should that happen, Chelsea will be freed off paying Conte the compensation owed him after his contract was abrogated. Chelsea were due to pay Conte £9m pay-off as reported by the Sun when he was sacked last summer.
