Chelsea will begin demanding goals from strikers although Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian have showed double-figure promise

At the moment Maurizio Sarri will not care too much about where goals are coming from, as long as Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro keep banging them in, but something has to come out of his strikers before the heat turns up.

Both strikers at the club are currently unable to register goals and only Alvaro Morata has got his name on the scoresheet in any of the games so far this season between the two. Olivier Giroud rides on the praise that he is a team player – but how many games will he be allowed to go this season without scoring and still be forgiven?

Giroud is a great target man and contributes a lot to the chances had by his other forward-thinking players but he needs a few goals to fully convince many Chelsea fans. The best target men in the business are expected to score, and if he wants to continue playing at Chelsea beyond this season, celebrating his own goals will do the trick for him.

For Morata, even without the goals, there is little or sometimes nothing to talk him up for. He barely links up play as his rival does and does not find the back of the net either. He will continue to get a few chances as the season wears on, but for a man who has only 12 goals since his debut for the Blues at the start of last season, his days are numbered at the club.

Willian has one league goal this season while Pedro has got three. Hazard leads the line with six goals in the top flight but there will come a period where the goals from the wing might just dry up to expose Morata and Giroud even more – but most crucially, it will be Sarri and his Chelsea team that suffer the dire consequences.
