Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is one of the leading names linked with joining Real Madrid after the La Liga giants sacked Julen Lopetegui on Monday – but if Los Blancos bring in the Italian manager, they might miss out on Eden Hazard next summer.
It is widely expected that whether or not Hazard signs a new deal at Chelsea, he could be on his way to Real next summer, after publicly flirting with them in recent weeks.
According to Marca, But the news that Conte could manage Real has turned the fortunes of the Madrid outfit rather negatively when it comes to signing Hazard. Both men worked at Chelsea for two seasons before Conte was unceremoniously sacked by the Blues following a season filled with player mutiny and poor results.
There was a clear ‘disconnect’ between Conte and his former players’ at Chelsea last season, despite a fine maiden campaign. His style that seems to prioritize defense first before attack also weighs on Hazard’s mind if he will like to work under the demanding coach again at his ‘dream’ club.
