Chelsea’s chase of Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has taken a new twist after reports suggest Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign the player.
The Wales international has been lined up by the Arsenal top hierarchy to be offered a new deal but the midfielder has yet to convince his bosses of a serious intent to put pen to paper. His current contract expires in June 2019 but the Gunners ace is not keen to extend his 10-year stay at the Emirates stadium.
Metro Sports says Bayern will take the opportunity of his stalling to sign a new deal, and offer him a bumper contract in January. The report indicates the German giants believe they can leapfrog Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United to the signing of the 27-year old.
Ramsey is struggling this season though to be a consistent fixture in Unai Emery’s refurbished side and was left on the bench last Saturday in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool.
