The only major injury concern for Maurizio Sarri revealed as Chelsea prepare for Tottenham clash

Chelsea may be without midfielder Mateo Kovacic on Saturday when they face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League according to the Evening Standard.

The Blues have almost a full strength side to face their North London rivals this weekend but could be without midfield talisman Kovacic who was spared from possible complications by his national team manager Zlatko Dalic when his side faced England at Wembley.

His setback occurred during Croatia’s 3-2 win over Spain during the international break when a reported muscle injury caused a withdrawal from the game.

In his place, Ross Barkley or Ruben Loftus-Cheek can step up in Maurizio Sarri’s preferred three-man midfield. The 24-year old has been a regular in Sarri’s starting line-up lately, giving Barkley and his England teammate Loftus-Cheek a tough challenge this season for the remaining spot alongside Jorginho and N’Golo Kante.

Kovacic failed to take part in training on Wednesday but could show up at Sarri’s tactical training on Friday and prepare for the weekend.
