“We do stuff repeatedly” – Ruben Loftus-Cheek reveals what transformed Chelsea into a dominant Premier League team

Since Roman Abramovich acquired the running rights of Chelsea in 2003, he has desired one way of playing and that’s dominating the play and making chances count. It is safe to say the Russian Oligarch’s dream is beginning to be realized in the last couple of months.

A testament to that is one of the most successful academy products, Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The midfielder is currently one of the most improved in the Chelsea team and despite not featuring for a lot of minutes, he shows a steady progress each time he called upon by his head coach.

The Blues now dominate their opponents regardless of the strength of the opposition and seek to be on the front foot a majority of the time.

Sarri’s influence is evident in Chelsea’s new attacking philosophy, coupled with the willingness and ability to press rival teams into submission. Loftus-Cheek says this new development at Stamford Bridge is as a result of the daily repetition of tactical training, led by the Italian tactician.

“Sarri is very big on tactics as well. We do stuff repeatedly day in, day out on shape. So in a way it’s similar. Sarri likes to be aggressive on the press, which I think is good for Chelsea to be a dominant team.”
