Chelsea are controlling games this season, they look a side capable of winning every game if their sheer dominance in games is taken into consideration. Yet they have lost twice in the last three games and their season is quickly turning into a shambles.
Marcos Alonso has been one of the quieter players in the last few weeks and despite his early season top form, the left-full back has taken a back seat and been a withdrawn figure in the squad. As Chelsea got beaten in a second straight away game against Wolves last Wednesday, the whispers and rumors began that their Premier League title chase was over, and rightly so.
The Blues now sit fourth in the standings and are 10 points behind Manchester City, who are yet to be beaten this season after 15 games. They have dropped only four points in the process compared to Chelsea’s 14.
Alonso admits Chelsea are going ‘through a tough moment’ and need to come back quickly to top form or risk missing out on major trophies.
“We’re not doing very well at the moment. We have to get better as a collective. The last few games we were not loyal to our style of play even if we didn’t deserve to lose.
We are going through a hard moment and you have to work very hard, stay together and get back to winning as soon as possible. We have to play more as a team. It’s something we have to analyse, we will try our best to improve as soon as possible.”
