Two players certain to miss Chelsea’s EFL Cup clash with Bournemouth on Wednesday

Chelsea will be without striker Alvaro Morata and winger Victor Moses for their EFL Cup clash with Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.

Both players have been ruled out of the game as per a report by the Evening Standard with varying injuries. Moses has been nursing a back problem for weeks now and will sit out the midweek cup tie while Morata’s knee injury in Chelsea Europa League final group game against Vidi also rules him out of action this week.

In Morata’s absence, Maurizio Sarri has a decision to make on who starts up front after Eden Hazard played as a false nine in the last two games. Olivier Giroud is a more natural replacement but his poor form means he may just miss out as well.

The former Arsenal striker only featured for seven minutes in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium last Sunday.
