Chelsea have a tough decision to make on one of their brightest youngsters – although not a rare occurrence in recent seasons – but the player in question has a bigger burden to carry in the next few days.
Does he force to leave the club that has given you everything as a youth player and helped him progress this far, or does he leave his future in the hands of people who have proven, without doubt, they prefer to play experienced players over young talents?
Callum Hudson-Odoi is wanted by one of the biggest clubs in the world and for a start, their head coach is keen to give him more first-team minutes than his current club are offering at the moment. Having started no Premier League game this season and playing only seven times in total in all competitions, Chelsea have their backs against the wall in this matter.
Bayern Munich would not make an offer of £30m for an 18-year old unless he totally deserves it, and when called on by Maurizio Sarri against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, the England U-17 international proved why there is so much talk about him.
He contributed heavily to Chelsea’s attack, starting on the right wing, in the absence of Willian, Pedro and Olivier Giroud. His two crosses were met by Alvaro Morata for Chelsea’s two goals in the game and if the Blues’ top hierarchy are thinking straight, they will do everything in their power to stop Hudson-Odoi from joining the European giants.
