Forgotten Chelsea midfielder’s future remains at Chelsea despite strong interest from Premier League clubs

Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater will remain a player of the club despite interest from other Premier League teams this month.

The winter transfer window is set to end at midnight today, but the player is not remotely close to joining another club despite failing to start a single game for Chelsea the entire season. Maurizio Sarri does not consider the England international capable of playing his style and has frozen him out of the first team squad.

With the arrival of Mateo Kovacic, Sarri has utilized only N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Cesc Fabregas in his three-man midfield.

According to TalkSport, West Ham are interested in taking him on loan this month for the remainder of the season. Manuel Pellegrini sees him as the perfect target and has told the Hammers top brass to begin talks for him before the transfer window closes at 11 pm.

The 28-year-old has made only one appearance this season and that was in the FA Community Shield at the start of the campaign and per the Evening Standard, he will stay at the Bridge until next summer.
