Chelsea target Gonzalo Higuain has been talked up as the next signing for the club in recent weeks but the player is yet to be presented on the club’s official website.
The deal has dragged and for good reason. AC Milan went into a season-long loan contract with the Argentina international last summer but after Maurizio Sarri and his bosses at Chelsea convinced him to cut short his deal with the Italian giants, Milan will need to find a replacement.
There has been a lot of talk in Italy about Genaro Gattuso aiming at snapping up Genoa’s in-form striker Krzysztof Piatek but until that deal is announced, Higuain will not be allowed to leave to London.
Sky Sports reports though, that Chelsea may get their breakthrough on Tuesday as Genoa and Milan are set for final talks about the £30 million deal. If terms are agreed between both clubs, Chelsea will have the green light to sign Higuain today.
