Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, despite struggling to find top form in the Premier League, is attracting interest from some of Europe’s best clubs including Barcelona.
However, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, the former Real Madrid youngster could end up at the Wanda Metropolitano in this winter transfer window if a couple of conditions are met.
First Chelsea need to find a replacement for Morata, who only has five league goals to his name this season. So far Gonzalo Higuain, Callum Wilson, Mauro Icardi and Jamie Vardy have all been linked to the Stamford Bridge club as per the Express.
Secondly, the Blues must lower their expectations for his fee, along the player himself lowering his demands. But on the part of Atletico, Diego Simeone has okayed his capture despite having Diego Costa and Antoine Greizmann in his ranks already.
Guillem Balague wrote on Twitter that Morata is attracting interest from other clubs in Europe but Atletico are keen to ‘please’ him with a concrete offer as soon as the indications from London show promise.
At Madrid might find a way to finance the cost of Morata if both player and Chelsea reduce their expectations. Loan deal, including wages and payment to London club, cost €9m, Atletico would pay less. Chelsea would like a replacement and even an obligation to buy in the summer pic.twitter.com/uvPu4rfoZt
