Chelsea must brace themselves for a mega summer bid from Real Madrid if thisreport by the London Evening Standard is to be believed.
Los Blancos had drawn up a three-man shortlist – including Paris Saint Germain stars Neymar and Kylian Mbappe – to beef up their forward line after the end of this season, but have decided on Chelsea’s Eden Hazard. With Hazard’s contract with Chelsea ending in the summer of 2020, Real believe they can sign him up for a low fee this year and are exploiting that opportunity.

The complexity of signing one of Neymar or Mbappe from the French Ligue 1 giants and the fact PSG will demand in excess of £200million for either player is why Real want to turn to Hazard. The Belgium captain will be the easiest of the trio to land, having already made public his wish to wear the white shirt in Madrid.
Hazard has reportedly rejected offers from Chelsea to make him a joint-top earner at the club, so there’s not much more the club can do to keep him.
