Comments have come out today about Gary Cahill being unhappy about being left out of the matchday squad to face Malmo.
The Telegraph have an exclusive story today from Matt Law who says that the Champions League winning player has really been surprised by the treatment he has received from Maurizio Sarri.
It was widely expected that the centre back would leave in January, but he stayed at the club and is now seemingly featuring even less.

We don’t know whether he had options to leave and refused, looking to see out his deal, or whether he was denied the opportunity to move for some reason. Perhaps simply nobody was interested in him.
Either way, he’s not happy about it, and some Chelsea fans are unhappy with him apparently leaking this news about his unhappiness to the press. You can see the reaction from some journalists and reacting fans here:

Cahill should not be put in the same bracket as those 2. You’re only upset because he’s one of your sources of info and he’s the leak

Don't care much for Cahill but shows how big of a coward and terrible man manager Sarri is. Terrible leader of men https://t.co/pUwPTrs6xM

Never discuss sources! Cahill is losing more and more of my respect! Basically confirming that Cahill is your man!

Three things from some responses to this:
1) Matt, as you should know by now, is always well sourced.
2) Cahill, as Matt says, has kept his counsel this season, so I very much doubt this came from him.
3) Your opinion of Cahill as a player isn’t relevant to the story #cfc

Raise your hand if you think ghosting the club captain would contribute to the coach losing the locker room in his first season. #CFC https://t.co/LeYN8BDaVG

Whether or not you think Cahill should be in the squad or not is purely opinion. But freezing him out and not using his experience aka Mourinho and Drogba and Conte and Terry is just plain odd management from Sarri. It's disrespectful too

This is a bad look for Sarri. Cahill is a hugely experienced, model professional, widely respected inside & outside Chelsea.
Aside from being disrespectful, disregarding his potential to help with dressing room issues is just plain counter-productive #cfc https://t.co/Kyh0f36nfL
