Maurizio Sarri safe at Chelsea despite worsening results

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri’s job at Chelsea is safe for now despite losing five times in the Premier League after 24 matchdays.

The Blues now languish in fifth position following their 4-0 defeat to Bournemouth and will look to bounce back as soon as possible. The game against Huddersfield will be a great chance to do so with the Terriers rock bottom in the table with only 11 points. Should they come out of the clash against Chelsea with a victory for only the third time this season, then serious questions will be asked of Sarri.

His Chelsea side have won 14 games, lost five and drawn five times but need an immediate response to the embarrassing result at the Vitality stadium on Wednesday.

The Guardian ran a story on Thursday that Sarri’s job is safe for now but needs to work hard and produce positive results soon or face the wrath of the Russian oligarch who owns the club.
