Maurizio Sarri has been handed an extra incentive to win today, with the Express linking Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo with the Chelsea hotseat.
We thought we were past all this talk over Sarri’s future. The Chelsea team endured a real blip over the winter period, one that we weren’t sure Sarri would be able to survive, but we’ve come out the other side stronger.
The Carabao Cup final proved to be a turning point for our manager, despite the fact that we were unable to get our hands on the trophy. Chelsea can make it three Premier League wins on the bounce with a victory over Wolves today.
Wolves musn’t be underestimated, after all, we do head into today’s game just one position ahead of them. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo has to get his fair share of the credit for their superb performances this term.
Nuno’s good work this term hasn’t gone unnoticed at Stamford Bridge, as per the Express. He’s mentioned as a potential replacement for Sarri, should the Italian’s Chelsea career be cut short in the summertime.
It’s difficult to see Sarri being sacked at this point, though. Employing a new manager without being able to provide them with any of the players they desire would be essentially pointless. Let’s keep the faith in Maurizio and his methods.
