Two of the greatest strikers ever to pull on the Chelsea shirt are in attendance today for the Blues’ crucial clash with seventh-place Wolves.
After Tottenham lost yesterday, Chelsea were presented with an excellent opportunity to gain a foothold in the face for top four. Wolves arrived with an evident gameplan – restrict our opportunities in the final third.
What’s required when facing a team with ten behind the ball is a moment of brilliance from a special player. Unfortunately for Chelsea, we have more in the stands than are forthcoming on the field of play.
Didier Drogba and Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink, who boast a combined 255 goals for Chelsea, were pictured in attendance at the Bridge for today’s game.

Gonzalo Higuain has started brightly since signing in January, but he’s not a long-term solution to our struggles in attack. What we need is a striker like Drogba or Hasselbaink who will deliver consistently over the course of several years.
It’s a shame that neither will be able to roll back the years and do a job for us, but it warms our heart that they still find time in their schedules to cheer on their beloved Blues.
