Pedro has spoken of his desperation to get Chelsea back in the Champions League ahead of the Blues’ clash with Wolves this afternoon.
If you asked any Chelsea fan what their favourite moment supporting the team was, they’ll all say the same thing – Munich.
The Champions League win was something special, something magical. Not only was it the first time we had won it in our history, but the triumph was defined by so much drama. It was a truly incredible night.
While reminiscing on such a memorable night brings feelings of joy, there’s also the bitterness that we didn’t qualify for the competition. The Europa League is merely a means to an end.
Pedro, who scored against Dynamo Kiev on Thursday night, appears to feel the same. The three-time Champions League winner told the official club website:
“It’s so important for this club to enter in the Champions League, because I think Chelsea need to play Champions League. It’s a very big competition for us and this year it’s not possible to play Champions League, but we have to fight during this year until the end to reach the top four and to enter also through the Europa League if we win.”
Chelsea are in the driving seat to finish in the top four and have been one of the favourites to win the Europa League from the very beginning. With one final push, the players will get us back into the Champions League. Let’s get it.
