Predicted XI: Chelsea to welcome Emerson return, but no room for CHO again

Chelsea host Wolves at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, with Maurizio Sarri having several key decisions to make in order to ensure history doesn’t repeat itself.

After a bright start to the season under Sarri, Wolves were one of the teams who laid the foundations of our demise. We were defeated 2-1 at the Molineux, meaning today’s game is an opportunity for redemption.

Kepa Arrizabalaga was beaten by Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota in the reverse fixture. He’ll no doubt be desperate to keep a clean sheet this afternoon.

In defence, Cesar Azpilicueta is fresh, having been rested midweek, while Antonio Rudiger was also on the bench against Dynamo Kiev. Thursday’s captain David Luiz will likely keep his place, while Emerson Palmieri should also be involved.

Moving onto midfield, Jorginho scored last time out in the Premier League and N’Golo Kante has been sensational recently. Both are certain to start. Though we’d like to see RLC in action today, Ross Barkley has been favoured in recent weeks.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has little chance of starting in attack under Sarri, with Pedro likely to be fielded out on the right wing. Gonzalo Higuain and Eden Hazard will surely make up the rest of our attacking three.
