There’s been a mixed reaction to news of Callum Hudson-Odoi’s start for England tonight. Some are delighted, others have taken their chance to have a dig at our manager.
The news comes from the Telegraph, who report that Gareth Southgate has revealed that Hudson-Odoi is set to replace Jadon Sancho in the starting lineup.
Hudson-Odoi could hardly have dreamt this happening 12 months ago, but his astronomical rise has been Marcus Rashford-esque, and it’s set to continue.
Chelsea fans, who have been campaigning for Hudson-Odoi to be given a more significant role all season, will surely be delighted with the latest news.

We’ve kicked every ball with CHO this season, as you have to be expected to when one of your own is on the verge of breaking through.
A start tonight would be a proud moment for every Chelsea fan. You’d expect that many would take to Twitter to celebrate with the youngster.
However, some took it as an opportunity to take a dig at Maurizio Sarri, who has continually opted to overlook CHO this season. Have a look at this.

Gareth Southgate making a mockery of Sarri's comments on Callum Hudson-Odoi is he starts him for England tonight. He should definitely have started a Premier League game by now. Will this push Sarri into doing so now? #cfc
