Several members of the Chelsea squad were pictured leaving a West London nightclub early on Friday morning, report the Mirror.
Oftentimes with these stories, players will be painted out to be in the wrong for living their lives and enjoying themselves. They’re well within their rights to have fun, make no mistake.
The Mirror report that those spotted at the club included Gary Cahill, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ethan Ampadu, Danny Drinkwater, Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud.
Loftus-Cheek had plenty to celebrate, having registered a goal and an assist against Brighton midweek. He, along with Giroud, was certainly entitled to let his hair down.
It’s claimed that the first to throw in the towel was Cahill, which is surprising considering he will have known he won’t be playing on Monday. He is an old man now, in his defence.
Gazza’s compatriot, Danny Drinkwater, certainly had a good time. The man who gets paid for doing absolutely nothing looked a little worse for wear, before leaving with TWO women, as the Mirror report.

The report claims that Ross Barkley was the last man standing at the club. He is thought to have left just after 5am, which is a commendable effort on his part.

We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the team is able to put in a performance against the Hammers on Monday night. If they’re not, this’ll no doubt be cited as a potential reason why.
If nothing else, it’s a healthy reminder that both Cahill and Drinkwater do in fact exist. We were beginning to wonder…
