Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is hopeful that his recent fine form for Chelsea will give him a chance to join England’s squad for the UEFA Nations League.
The new tournament will take place in the summer and Loftus-Cheek, who has been a consistent feature under Gareth Southgate since last year, seeks to play a part in it. His back problems ruled him out of the Three Lions last two Nations League qualifiers, but England scored 10 goals in his absence, underlining the strength in depth in the team.

England’s good form without Loftus-Cheek gives him concern and reports had it that Southgate could drop him from the squad if he has a full squad at his disposal. Loftus-Cheek has, however, turned his fortunes at Chelsea, starting each of the last four Premier League games.
The 22-year old wants to focus on helping Chelsea win silverware this season while convincing Southgate of his qualities.
“I am focused on the now and hoping (for England) in the future. The way you get in the England squad is doing well for your club.
England is a by-product of what you’re doing. My focus is all on Chelsea and playing well when I get the opportunity. If you do well, you have every chance of being called up to England.â€
