Maurizio Sarri has spoken positively about Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek ahead of Chelsea’s clash with West Ham on Monday night.
It has been a frustration for Chelsea fans throughout the entirety of Sarri’s debut season at Stamford Bridge. His reluctance to use our younger players has made poor results unjustifiable.
Sarri bowed to the pressure midweek and opted to field both Hudson-Odoi AND Loftus-Cheek in a Premier League game. It’s the first time the pair have started together in the league.
After they impressed during a 3-0 win over Brighton, we Chelsea fans would love to see them keep their places and begin to nail down a spot in the starting eleven.
Though we don’t see it happening just yet, better times are definitely on the horizon. When questioned about Hudson-Odoi and Loftus-Cheek during an interview with the club’s website, Sarri said:
“At the beginning of the season, Hudson-Odoi had a very great potential but wasn’t ready to play in the Premier League.”
“Loftus-Cheek was the same, Loftus-Cheek had only to adapt to my football, to improve tactically for my football. Then he had a lot of problems with his back and so we had to wait for him.”
“But now they are fresh, they are ready. They are improving so in this moment of the season they are fresh. I think that in this moment they are really very important for us.”

Actions speak louder than words. Sarri can prove to us that the positivity in his words is genuine by giving both players opportunities between now and the end of the campaign.
