Premier League legend Alan Shearer has backed Chelsea to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League.
At least someone has!
Despite dropping points last time out against Burnley, Chelsea find themselves three wins from a guaranteed spot in next season’s Champions League.
Our remaining fixtures are as follows: Man United (A), Watford (H), Leicester (A). It doesn’t get much trickier than that outside of the Etihad or Anfield.
Regardless, we are Chelsea and it’d be bizarre for us to fear anyone, even if we haven’t been at the races at periods this season. Shearer’s confident, so maybe we ought to be too.

Shearer is quoted by the Metro giving us his backing to finish in the top four. Although, he does note that we’ve been done a favour by our short-falling rivals – which is hard to argue against:
“Probably Chelsea, only because the lack of form from the others. ‘We’re sat here talking about Manchester United and the first thing we talk about tonight [after the defeat to Man City] is: ‘at least they put the effort in.”
“That’s how bad Manchester United have fallen – we’re praising them because of their attitude. So because of that reason and because Arsenal have got two away games, and they’ve been hopeless away from home, Tottenham are in and probably Chelsea.”
We can’t throw this away now. We have two opportunities to get back into the biggest competition in club football. It’d be a disgrace if we didn’t manage it from here.
Shearer is right in saying that we are only in this position due to our rivals dropping points, but take no credit away from Maurizio Sarri if he manages to pull it off.
