Tottenham injury crisis could offer Chelsea avenue into Champions League

Chelsea have inadvertently been given further hope of qualifying for next season’s Champions League – by who else but Tottenham Hotspur…

We would prefer to stop short of celebrating a footballer sustaining an injury – especially if they’re English – but these are desperate times.

Chelsea NEED to get back into the Champions League. We face the possibility of missing out for the third time in four seasons, which would be disgraceful.

Thankfully for us, Spurs are in the race. They’re implosion was a little premature this term, but it’s offered us an avenue back into the mix.

They have also been struck by injuries to key men Harry Kane and Dele Alli, with both potentially ruled out of their clash with Huddersfield this weekend.

Though Alli should be back in contention soon, Kane’s injury appears a little more serious.

As the BBC report, the England captain’s ankle injury could see him miss the remainder of the campaign, which would be a huge blow to Spurs’ top four hopes.

It’s a shame for Kane, but a boost for us. We’ll take everything we can get.
