“You always feel the pressure and tension” Says Chelsea’s most decorated player

Chelsea forward Pedro has described the feeling ahead of cup finals as having ‘pressure’ and ‘tension’ as a player despite winning twenty-four trophies in his career.

The former Barcelona player is one of the most decorated in football having been part of the squad that won several trophies between 2008 and 2012 for both club and country. With Barcelona, Pedro won six trophies in one season under Pep Guardiola and continued to pick up silverware with his club and also on duty with Spain. At the international level, Pedro has won the World Cup in 2010 and 2008 and 2012 European Cups.

Since he arrived at Chelsea, Pedro has won two Premier League titles, FA Cup and the Carabao Cup and with that experience, it is expected that he will be one of the most relaxed in the team ahead of a cup final like this. But having not won the Europa League, Pedro reveals he still feels the ‘pressure’ and the ‘tension’:

“At home, I have the replica trophies. I am very happy because in my career it has been so good to win a lot of titles. The Europa League is special for me because I don’t have this title. It is the first time in my career to play in it. You always feel the pressure and tension. It is a final. It is the one opportunity to win the title.”
