Chelsea continue amazing tradition of picking up trophies even in tough seasons

It is not a secret that Chelsea are title-hungry and continue to pick up trophies almost every season, even when they are written off as losers mid-way through the campaign.

This season has been no different. A new manager walked in through the doors at Stamford Bridge, replacing Antonio Conte whose last few months at the club were nothing less than dire. His tenure as Chelsea coach ended in FA Cup glory, even though that season was marred by player mutiny reports and several other reports of stand-offs with those above him.

So Maurizio Sarri had his work cut out for him, but he has delivered in the end and won his first trophy as a manager. In spectacular fashion, Chelsea destroyed their London opponents, Arsenal, and lifted the trophy for the second time in six years.

Chelsea have a habit of collecting trophies and regardless of the problems the team has throughout the season, there’s a knack to keeping winning. Baku is the latest city to stand testament to that for any doubters.
