Chelsea receive big signal from £61.7m target that he will be ready for Premier League move

Chelsea’s interest in Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic is set to peak in the next few months after their target expressed interest in playing in the Premier League ahead of La Liga.

The Bundesliga hotshot is one of the most talked about players this season, having scored 27 goals in the German top flight and Europa League combined. His 10 goals in the second tier of European football ties him with Olivier Giroud as the top scorers this season in the competition.

Marca says any club seriously interested in signing Jovic must be ready to pay £61.7 million as Real Madrid were told upon making an initial request.

Jovic has made himself one of the most sought after players in the European market and his latest comments via the Daily Mail will get suitors tussling for his signature in the upcoming transfer window.

“From my experience in the Europa League, I would say that some other leagues in Europe are more suited to me and my way of playing football.

In terms of the physique, the Bundesliga is very demanding, but after the games against Chelsea or Inter Milan, I personally had the feeling that I could feel even better [playing] in the Premier League or Serie A. The way the teams play there suits me better.”

Chelsea have Giroud on their payroll and have extended his deal recently but the Blues may have to dispense Gonzalo Higuain’s services after Metro reported they are not convinced by the Argentina international after his six-month loan stint.
