Chelsea have scheduled talks with Callum Hudson-Odoi’s camp over a contract extension for later this month, according to a report published by the Daily Mail.
Hudson-Odoi has allowed his contract to run down to the final 18 months, thus putting much of the power over his future into his own hands.
Chelsea face the possibility of being forced to cash-in this summer to avoid losing him on a pre-contract agreement next January.
There didn’t look to be much hope of retaining Hudson-Odoi back in the previous winter window, but the situation may now have changed.
The Daily Mail claim that contract talks are already penciled in to resolve Hudson-Odoi’s future, with Chelsea increasingly confident that he’ll commit his future.
Considering the precarious nature of Eden Hazard’s future at Chelsea, it would be reassuring to many if we were able to tie CHO down to a new deal.
It’s now up to both him and the club agreeing the finer details, and hopefully there’ll be an official announcement to come sooner rather than later.
