Chelsea are being proactive over the future of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, with the club hoping to avoid a repeat of the situation surrounding Callum Hudson-Odoi.
That’s according to a report by The Sun, who report that Marina Granovskaia is planning on opening contract talks with Loftus-Cheek’s camp this summer.
RLC has two years left to run, but as did Hudson-Odoi last summer, with the youngster now holding the club to ransom. The less time on the contract, the more it becomes a matter outside the club’s hands.

Loftus-Cheek has now established himself as an important member of Maurizio Sarri’s side, so there has likely never been a better time for us to attempt to tie him down.
It’s reassuring to hear, if The Sun’s information is correct, that Chelsea are hoping to prevent past mistakes and take a foothold when it comes to keeping our most valuable assets.
Loftus-Cheek has the potential to lead the new generation of Chelsea into a prosperous future. He can demonstrate his desire to do that by penning a new deal this summer.
