Telegraph journalist Matt Law has provided an update on Chelsea’s transfer ban – and this one may well divide opinion.
While Chelsea, and the fans alike, appear to have little hope of getting the ban overturned, there has been discussion of an appeal to freeze it.
This would allow us to make signings this summer, thus preparing for the ban and be better equipped to deal with it.
However, the Telegraph’s Matt Law now believes that Chelsea are entertaining the idea of not freezing the ban at all.
The decision as to whether the club will take the case to the C.A.S has not been made. We may well just sit out the ban as it stands.
Now, while Chelsea have a great deal of talent out on-loan and a relatively strong squad, this would surely be asking for trouble.
We have players such as Willian, Pedro, Olivier Giroud, Eden Hazard and more whose contracts are set to expire during the ban. We couldn’t replace them.
The solution is to do all we can to ensure we can make transfers this summer, and then deal with the ban at a later date.
At least, that’s what we’d do.
